On September 23rd at 4:19 am AEST, the Sun moves into Libra, and here in Australia, we welcome the Spring Equinox, that one day of the year where day and night stand perfectly equal. This is very much a reflection of Libra’s essence, reminding us that life should not tip too much in one direction but instead to dance in a rhythm of give and take, dark and light, rest and action. After the heaviness and intensity of the past few months, you may notice this shift almost immediately in your body and in your spirit, as though the universe itself is letting out a long exhale and inviting you to do the same.
Libra Season always brings with it the longing for balance, harmony, and beauty, but what makes this one different is that the balance we’re being called into isn’t surface-deep or purely aesthetic or “keep the peace at all costs” that Libra energy can be guilty of, attempting to smooth things over just to avoid conflict. Instead, this season carries an undercurrent of intensity, thanks to Mars moving into Scorpio and tangling with Pluto, and that means the balance we’re being invited into is the kind that only comes after truth has been faced, after the messy emotions have been acknowledged, after the shadow has had its say and the essence of Libra prefers not to walk through such muddy waters, but this should not be ignored this season
The Feeling of Libra Energy
Libra is ruled by Venus, and at its core, it longs for connection, fairness, and a sense of flow between people, places, and ideas. Libra energy notices the little details that make something feel “just right”, the way two colours work together, the moment a conversation finds harmony, the beauty of a space arranged with care. This is the season where you might feel drawn to bring flowers into your home, to smooth over rough edges in your relationships, or to create rituals that bring more beauty into your daily life.
But Libra isn’t just about pretty things or polite words. The scales are always in motion, always weighing, always adjusting, and sometimes that weighing process is uncomfortable. You might find yourself suddenly aware of where things are out of balance, where you’ve been giving too much and receiving too little, or where you’ve been staying quiet in order to avoid conflict but now feel restless to speak up. This is the tension that makes Libra so powerful: the ability to see both sides and to stand in the middle long enough to find a true point of balance, not just the appearance of one.
The Season’s Undercurrents
While the Sun in Libra may soften the edges, Mars has just moved into Scorpio, one of the signs it rules, and this brings heat, intensity, and a strong undercurrent of focus to everything we do. You may feel more passionate than usual, more determined, or more easily triggered. The desire to dig beneath the surface and uncover the truth is strong, and while that can sometimes feel unsettling, it’s also an incredible gift, because what we unearth now has the power to transform us.
Adding to this, Mars will square Pluto in Aquarius in the early part of Libra Season, and this is where the energy can feel like pressure building beneath the surface for months and finally finding its release. Old frustrations, anger, or truths that have been repressed may come to the surface, and while that might feel messy or even explosive in the moment, it’s ultimately a release valve that helps us break free of dynamics that no longer serve us. On the collective stage, this may coincide with upheaval or sudden events, but personally, it’s about learning how to channel intensity into liberation rather than destruction.
The Lunar Story
On October 7th, the Full Moon in Aries illuminates the Aries–Libra polarity: self versus other, independence versus partnership. This Full Moon may feel fiery, and it could stir issues in relationships, especially if the balance has been off. You might find yourself asking, “Where am I giving too much away, and where do I need to assert myself more clearly?” This lunation is a cosmic reminder that real partnership is not about sacrificing yourself to keep someone else happy, but about finding a way for both people to thrive without losing their individuality.
Midway through the season, on October 14th, Venus returns to Libra, her home sign, and this brings a wave of relief and beauty. If the first part of the season feels intense and heavy with Mars–Pluto–Uranus themes, this shift into Venus-ruled Libra will feel like fresh air. It’s a time when charm, collaboration, love, and aesthetics come back into focus. You might feel more open to connection, more drawn to creative projects, or more appreciative of simple pleasures like art, music, and time with people who feel good to your soul.
On the same day, Pluto stations direct in Aquarius, which can feel like a tectonic plate shifting beneath the surface. If you’ve been sitting in deep reflection since May, things may finally start moving forward. The themes of power, control, and transformation that Pluto stirs don’t shift overnight, but you may notice clarity returning where things have felt stagnant.
Finally, we close Libra Season with a New Moon in Libra on October 21st, a fresh invitation to set intentions around relationships, fairness, beauty, and balance. This New Moon connects with Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus, creating a complex web of growth and awakening that reminds us we’re part of something bigger. It’s a chance to plant seeds for harmony, not just within ourselves, but in the communities and collective spaces we move through.
How You Might Feel This Season
You might feel an initial softening, a craving for peace, beauty, and a return to balance after the chaos of the eclipses.
You may also feel a strong undercurrent of intensity bubbling beneath the surface, emotions rising, truths revealing themselves, and a desire to go deeper than small talk.
There could be moments where frustration or anger comes up suddenly, especially if you’ve been holding things in. Rather than fearing these eruptions, try to see them as signals that something inside you needs space, freedom, or transformation.
Relationships may be highlighted, not just romantic ones but friendships, family, and collaborations too. The question is: where is the balance off, and how can you restore it without losing yourself?
By the second half of the season, you may feel lighter, more connected, more inspired — as Venus in Libra brings charm, collaboration, and a desire for beauty to the forefront.
How to Work With This Energy
Let yourself soften, but don’t ignore the depths. Balance isn’t about pretending everything is okay — it’s about adjusting as things shift.
Use Mars in Scorpio to fuel transformation rather than conflict. This is incredible energy for deep work, passion projects, and facing truths you’ve avoided.
Practice honest diplomacy. Libra teaches harmony, Scorpio teaches truth. Together, they remind us that the conversations you’ve been avoiding can be had with both honesty and care.
Honour the Full Moon in Aries by reflecting on independence and partnership. Where do you need to assert yourself more clearly? Where do you need to compromise?
Surround yourself with beauty when Venus enters Libra. Let music, art, nature, and connection restore your sense of peace.
In Closing
Libra Season 2025 is about finding harmony that runs deeper than appearances. On the outside, there’s softness, charm, and beauty; on the inside, there’s courage, passion, and transformation. This is a season that asks us to smooth the edges while also digging into the shadows, to create environments of peace while also releasing what no longer belongs, and to nurture relationships while also honouring our individuality.
If you lean into both the lightness and the depth, Libra Season can become a powerful reset. It’s a chance to realign, to soften, and to step into a balance that feels both beautiful and true.
